No Switch Rules for This Season ( MUST READ) Please Reply If You Have Read This.

Post  hogtradition22 on Sun Feb 12, 2012 11:21 pm

The following rule will be enforced beginning Week 1. make sure you understand this rule before you play your first game. If you have any questions about any part of it contact me or one of the admins.

User Catch Rule (offense)-

You are not to switch on a receiver while a pass is in the air. A pass play should not be a battle of stick skill but instead be a test of ratings between the receiver and the defender. User Catching on offense will result in a warning then ban from the league.

Defense Switch Rule-
Like on offense, you are not to switch defenders while a pass is in the air. Once a receiver has the ball in his hands, you can then switch. If the ball is thrown near the defender that you started the play with, then you can use that player that you are still controlling to attempt a User Interception. The idea of the rule should be not to have a battle of stick skills, but instead to let the players ratings take care of some of the action on the field. Failing to follow will result in a warning, then ban from league regardless of how long you have been a member if it continues. Remember you are allowed to switch on running plays, QB scramble or to switch to a DT to pursue a sack.

If, on defense during a pass play, are we allowed to switch to a DL or LB, while the QB still has the ball, before passing? I guess I should have added......"I agree", and REALLY glad that we're doing it!!

Agreed to this now my question is if this is happening to you what action should be taken and how do you prove it? I know i have had people do the Rocket style catch where the other guy out jumps even a 99 rating after stopping on a dime from a pass play. the computer usually does not do that jump on every pass so i know for sure it isn't done by the computer on call every time you lob a pass.

One caveat. I'm horrible with stick control! Sometimes I accidentally hit buttons when I panic on a play Smile I would hope if you banned someone for something they do it is for actually making a play illegally and not screwing up and bleeping into someone on accident.

I know the feeling, Bird. I'll sometimes panic, and start slamming buttons. I think the best thing to do, at that point, is to simply do nothing with the guy you gain control of, until the catch is made. I think that, even though you HAVE control of a player, as long as you don't move the sticks, or hit another button, the AI will continue on with his assignment. If you'd like to play a scrimmage, or two....I think anyone would be happy to play. We'll all probably need some practice, to get used to it.

LOL, If I let the computer control them after I'm in, then the computer would make the play and it would look like me. Maybe I should just take the dude up-field and let them have the play and tackle after. Would that be OK?
